Dr. Gary Brown’s Autism/DTT Color App uses Discrete Trial Training (DTT) to help your child learn the basic colors. DTT is the primary teaching method used in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to teach numerous pre-academic and social skills to children with autism. This app can be used to help teach the colors to children with autism, attention deficit disorder (ADD), attention deficit hyperactive disorder (ADHD), or any child who has trouble staying on task.
Children using this app will be able to learn the colors in Chinese, English, French, Norwegian or Spanish. Other downloadable language packs will be added soon! (Note, the startup and config screens of the app are currently in Chinese and English only.)
This DTT App for teaching colors is fully automated and has been tested with children with autism at The Children's Treatment Center. This app is designed to be very simple with no distracting stimuli because children with autism (and other disorders) are easily distracted. This app is not designed to be a general purpose game, but rather a clinically tested training approach for children with a specific type of learning disability. |

The letters can be viewed in a simple sans-serif font, serif font, handwritten print font or a cursive font. Help your child learn the sight words using Dr. Gary Brown's DTT Words! Sight words are the first words that your child should learn to recognize. This version of DTT Words includes 39 sight words for preschool children. Each word can be spoken by either a male or female voice, and then your child can select the word from a list of words shown on the screen. Additional word packs (kindergarten, first, second and third grade) are also available for purchase. This version also includes a free nouns demo pack. Future versions of this app will include the option of downloading even more word packs. (This app is currently English only.)
